The Chalet Village Fanningberg
In modern and generously furnished chalets and apartments in an alpine “Lungau” style, refined with wellness offers such as sauna, barrel sauna, hot tub and sleeping in hay hut, our guests experience a special holiday.
In addition, a separate hunting and alpine area in the Weißpriachtal is part of the chalet village. A special highlight is the own alpine hut on the wonderful mountain lake “Wirpitschsee” in Weißpriach. We have the most beautiful natural treasures of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Slazburger Lungau right on our doorstep!

Many further ideas for our guests are waiting to be implemented in the chalet village of Fanningberg in the next years. In our family, young and old like to tackle things together. We believe that the unique treasure chest of this beautiful region should be opened to everyone. We would like to show you as much as possible of the region Salzburger Lungau and especially show you the Fanningberg and the Weißpriachtal, where our family roots are.

Gastronomy & lifts
Your dining opportunities on the Fanningberg are many and varied. Of the seven huts and mountain restaurants that are open in winter, a number also serve refreshments in the summertime as well. As a resident of our chalet village, you enjoy all the benefits of our family business, which also includes our own eateries – “s’Stüberl”, “Zirmbar” and “Zirberl” – and even our own farm. The selection of regional foods is diverse, with all of our dishes prepared from only the very best local products.
The six-passenger Samson Lift – operated by Fanningbergbahnen – carries you in just a few minutes up to an elevation of 2,150 m above sea level. This family ski area is immensely popular, especially since it is able to offer so much variety, yet is still easy to find your way around. 6 lifts and 30 kilometers of pistes do their part to guarantee perfect skiing enjoyment for the whole family!
As a guest of our chalet village, you are able to clamp on your skis right outside your own front door. The valley lift station is close by, as are the practice hill and bunny lift – and you’ll even be able to keep an eye on your own up-and-coming ski ace learning the basics, while you sit out on your terrace!

Guests of Chaletdorf Fanningberg are also welcome to spend a night in the hay. With that in mind, we converted two original hay lofts into comfortable overnight accommodations. A rejuvenating sleep is guaranteed – not to mention an utterly romantic experience! Additional hours of relaxation are assured thanks to our natural swimming pond, a place to reenergize, rejuvenate and enjoy. And come evening, why not spend convivial moments in our grill area.
A playground (in summer) is a big hit with our young guests. Our fleet of go-karts is also sure to excite, as are the giant trampoline and a nest swing.
Daily necessities you can’t or don’t want to do without during your holidays, as well as a selection of regional specialties and useful gifts for family and friends back home, can all be found in our farm shop next to the reception.

Our chalet village is a modern holiday resort with 15 alpine huts and 5 attractive panoramic apartments, with all the comfort you could wish for. The main building, in which the reception, the restaurant and a small shop are located, is situated at the foot of the chalet village, directly at the practice lift and near the valley station of the Fanningberg lifts, where there are ski schools and sports shops.

AIKA our Bernese Mountain Dog
Our lady on four paws has everything under control with her super-friendly snout. Sitting in front of the front door, Aika greets all guests with a hearty look. It happens that Aika accompanies animal lovers up to the chalet terrace. There she immediately joins the group, takes a seat and is happy about geting stroked. Well, Aika just belongs to the chalet village! And of course Aika is happy about every animal visit!

Your alpine vacation can offer you so much variety! The alternatives extend to the “Jedermann” city of Salzburg, with its rich cultural and musical offer. In the time of the Salzburg Festival there is a special flair in the city of Mozart, which is also worth a visit on all other days of the year! If you want to have a look around Carinthia’s society hotspot Velden, your journey will go south from Fanningberg. Or plan a relaxing day in summer at the Wörthersee or Millstättersee in Carinthia! A nice change would be to start the day with a cappuccino and then discover Italian fashion trends: The shopping city Udine can be reached from the Lungau in just two hours by car. If you plan another half an hour drive, you have already reached the Upper Adriatic Sea. A bathing day in summer in Lignano! Why not? In geographical terms, the Salzburg Lungau is a very good starting point.
